Qualityarns

Qualityarns NZ Ltd was established in November 1999 after the purchase of  the woollen mill in Milton.

Qualityarns started with 11 staff, but by the end of their first year of production, employed 35 people. Late in 2000 the Coasts Spencer Crafts mill in Mosgiel closed, and Qualityarns went on to purchase from them a Worsted Spinning line. This created jobs for another 13 people, most of whom were employees at the Mosgiel mill.

With both the Woollen and Worsted spinning lines in place it made Qualityarns NZ Ltd the only mill in New Zealand that is able to produce Woollen, Semi Worsted and Worsted yarns.

Qualityarns now offer a wide range of Woollen Spun yarns such as Merino Possum, Worsted spun yarns, Pure wool, Tencel, Merino/Tencel, and fancy yarns, Mohair boucle and much more. In fact most of the yarns they can produce can be seen in their Mill Factory Shop. Along with an assortment of items produced from their Possum Merino Yarn, and woollen and worsted spun jersey.
