Julia Campbell

Clincal Psychologist

Kia ora, I’m Julia. I'm from the UK and a māmā of an active toddler. I moved to Te Waipounamu a couple of years ago after spending 15 years in Auckland.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist: someone who provides specialist assessment and treatment. I work with teenagers and adults from diverse backgrounds. It can be scary reaching out for help, so I try to create a warm, non-judgemental and safe space for clients to understand and work through whatever they’re going through. My job is to guide people on their journey towards holistic wellbeing – nurturing them to grow and flourish.

As a psychologist, it's important that what we do works, that it helps you achieve your goals. I'm trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Te Whare Tapa Whā and Pae Tata Pae Tawhiti. These therapies can help to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, anger, harmful behaviour, addictions, relationship difficulties, questions around identity, stressful life events and trauma.

You can access me via funded services such as Gumboot Friday or the ACC Sensitive Claims contract. WINZ can also provide subsidies for therapy – talk to your GP if you think this may be an option for you. Sessions are usually 50-minutes long, but this may be adjusted based on your needs.

He waka eke noa: We are in this together.
